The 2023 NCAA softball tournament started Friday, May 19 and the B1G had its ups and downs.

Of the 4 B1G teams to crack the Field of 64, 2 came away with wins on Day 1: No. 12 Northwestern and Indiana. Minnesota fell to McNeese while Nebraska fell to Wichita State, both by just 1 run.

But, the tournament is double elimination to start for a reason. Minnesota and Nebraska will be fighting to stave off elimination Saturday, but they still have a chance to get out of their region.

Below are the start times and TV info for Saturday’s 4 B1G matchups, all times eastern:

  • Indiana vs. No. 4 Tennessee: 1 p.m. on ESPN+
  • Kentucky vs. No. 12 Northwestern: 1 p.m. on ESPN+
  • UMBC vs. Nebraska: 5:30 p.m. on ESPN+
  • Minnesota vs. Northern Colorado: 7:30 p.m. on ESPN+

Of the 4, Northwestern seems to be in the best boat right now after taking care of business on Day 1. The Hoosiers did so too, but are going to face off against a deadly Tennessee team that no-hit Northern Kentucky to start their tournament Friday. And not many teams have gotten the better of the Lady Vols in Knoxville this season.

Kentucky is no slouch either, but Northwestern is in as good a shape as any to move to Day 3 without a loss.

Should be in for a good one, softball fans!
