Indiana has its quarterback of the future.

The Hoosiers earned a commitment from 3-star passer Timothy Carpenter on Sunday morning. Carpenter, an Ohio native, first earned an offer from IU earlier this month.

Here’s his announcement:

Carpenter is a big-time pickup for the Hoosiers. He’s currently ranked as the No. 663 overall player and the No. 43 quarterback in the country for the 2024 cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 23 player from the state of Ohio.

He attends Trotwood Madison High School in Dayton, Ohio. Carpenter is listed at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds.

Indiana is now up to 4 commitments in the class of 2024. The Hoosiers are expected to continue adding to their class in the coming weeks and months. IU’s class currently ranks No. 56 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Carpenter is currently Indiana’s highest-ranked commitment in this class.
