Nebraska is working on the 2024 recruiting class under head coach Matt Rhule, but the Huskers are also working for the future when it comes to key prospects.

On Friday, Rhule and his staff landed a major in-state victory with a key defensive lineman. The player is Tyson Terry, a 3-star DL out of Omaha North High School in Omaha. Prior to his commitment, the 2025 recruit had already generated significant Power 5 offers from Iowa, Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kansas and Vanderbilt.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 279 pounds, the 247 Sports Composite rates Terry as the No. 39 DL prospect for the 2025 recruiting class. He’s also the 3rd overall player out of Nebraska for the cycle.

While a lot of the attention is currently on the 2024 recruiting class, Rhule has the Huskers off to an early start in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Terry joins fellow in-state prospect and 3-star safety Caden VerMaas as early commitments for the Huskers. VerMaas and Terry are the No. 2 and No. 3 players in the state for the cycle, giving Nebraska a strong local flavor to begin the cycle.
