Saquon Barkley was going to be remembered as one of the most prolific running backs in Penn State history, regardless of what his career numbers said. But the running back inked his name atop the program’s record book.
During Penn State’s game against Nebraska, Barkley posted his 39th career touchdown run, which is a program record for Penn State. He broke the record with his third trip to the end zone against the Huskers.
Here’s the run that broke the record:

Barkley obliterated Nebraska’s defense, rushing for 158 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries as the Lions posted a 56-44 win to improve to 9-2.
In addition to breaking Penn State’s rushing touchdown record, Barkley also eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the season. Through 11 games, he now has 1,057 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground.
He still leads the B1G in all-purpose yards this season.
Barkley’s performance on Saturday might’ve been his last in Beaver Stadium, as many believe he could enter the NFL draft and forego his senior season. If this was it for the junior running back, what an incredible send off it was.
