Penn State is set for a game against an ACC opponent in Atlanta, as the Mike Rhoades era gets under way.
Multiple reports, including The Bracketeer, suggest that the Nittany Lions are set to face Georgia Tech in the Holiday Hoopsgiving doubleheader at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. South Florida is reportedly the second team in the event set to take place on Dec. 17th.
Georgia Tech also has a first-year coach in Damon Stoudamire, who recently spoke about it being close to a perfect job.
The Nittany Lions also are slated to participate in an event in Orlando with Boise State, Butler, Florida Atlantic, Iowa State, Texas A&M, VCU and Virginia Tech. Penn State also owes a home game against UMass.
Rhoades comes to Penn State after a six-year stint as the head coach at VCU in which he led the Rams to 3 NCAA Tournament appearances, a 129-60 overall record and 72-32 Atlantic 10 Conference record.
