Urban Meyer is one of those coaches who sees his name fairly regularly surface in discussions around the coaching carousel.

The former Ohio State coach “takes some pride” in that ongoing interest as he continues to work for FOX Sports on the “Big Noon Kickoff” pregame show. That’s according to long-time Ohio State reporter Tim May of Letterman Row, who appeared on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Wednesday.

“He kind of laughs at speculation out there sometimes,” May said. “I think he obviously takes some pride in the fact that some people think he can do it again and turn a program around, but I don’t think he has the interest in doing that.”

May added that the era of the transfer portal and NIL “is going to wear out a lot of people.”

“I’m not sure he would like it unless he could get his whole old gang together, and they kind of like where they are at Ohio State,” May said.
