Carlon Jones, elite DL out of Texas, announces B1G commitment

Carlon Jones, a 3-star defensive lineman out of Bay City, Texas, has announced a commitment to play in the B1G.

Jones pledged to Nebraska after he had a reported 25 offers and was recruited to the Cornhuskers by Terrance Knighton. As part of his announcement, Jones said, “lets change the narrative #GBR turn me up!!” He visited Nebraska on June 2, and chose the Cornhuskers over SMU.

Jones is the No. 67 defensive lineman in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 108 player in the state of Texas. This is the 22nd commitment for Nebraska and he joined Omaha’s Ashton Murphy as future players along the defensive line.

Jones has also played basketball and track and field, and unleashed a shot put throw of 45-5 in March.
