Michigan QB Brandon Peters’ status unknown for Ohio State game

After taking a hard hit against the Wisconsin Badgers, Michigan quarterback Brandon Peters availability is in doubt for this week’s rivalry game against Ohio State due to a concussion.
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh said on a local radio show that Peters is making strides in the concussion protocol, but that his status is still up in the air for Saturday.
“He was 50 percent better so made great strides in the last 24 hours. There’s that hope, of course (that he can be cleared to play). It’s totally in the doctors’ hands and you hope for the best and we prepare both ways, that he’ll be there or next man up.”
Peters took a big hit from a Wisconsin defender and was carted off the field, after being attended to by Michigan medical staffers for minutes.
John O’Korn would likely get the start for Michigan if Peters isn’t able to play. O’Korn has started four games this season.
Former starting QB Wilton Speight has missed nearly two months, after fracturing three vertebrae against Purdue on Sept. 23. Speight did practice this week, however.
Michigan squares off against No. 8 Ohio State (9-2) at noon E.T. Saturday in Michigan. The Wolverines (8-3) have not performed well in recent games against OSU, losing five straight to the Buckeyes.
