Nebraska receiver Stanley Morgan Jr. closing in on history

Nebraska hasn’t had the season it envisioned, but receiver Stanley Morgan Jr. has been one of the few bright spots on this year’s team.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound junior receiver has 54 receptions for 912 yards and eight touchdowns in 10 games this season. Morgan’s best performance came this past Saturday against Penn State when he had seven receptions for 185 yards and one touchdown.
Following his impressive performance in Nebraska’s loss to Penn State, Morgan is only 30 yards shy of breaking Nebraska’s single-season receiving yards record set by Johnny Rodgers in 1972.

Nebraska welcomes Iowa to Memorial Stadium on Friday at 3 p.m. The Huskers (4-7) have lost three straight games and Friday’s game will likely be head coach Mike Riley’s final game as coach.
Iowa and Nebraska play for the Heroes Trophy, which the Hawkeyes currently hold after a 40-10 victory in 2016. The series is tied for the trophy at three games apiece, but Nebraska holds the all-time series advantage, 29-15-3.
