Laremy Tunsil lauds CJ Stroud’s start with Houston Texans: ‘He’s a straight dog’

Laremy Tunsil is one of the best left tackles in the world. The former Ole Miss OL became the highest-paid offensive tackle in NFL history last season, playing for what was perhaps the worst team in the league.
There were plenty of reasons why the Texans struggled last season and a good portion of those reasons start at the quarterback position. In response, Houston selected CJ Stroud out of Ohio State with the No. 2 overall pick this offseason.
And according to a report from Eleven Warriors, Stroud has Tunsil’s seal of approval heading into late July.
“He handles himself well, he came into the building with these unbelievable leadership skills, and he’s killing it, man,” Tunsil said, via Eleven Warriors. “How I describe C.J. is a dog. He’s a straight dog. He comes in there ready to work. He handles the huddle perfectly. And he goes out there and balls. And you have to appreciate that, especially a young quarterback like C.J.”
Obviously, we’re a few weeks or potentially months out from learning whether Stroud will start Week 1 in the NFL over Davis Mills. But when your starting left tackle is this high on a rookie the writing may already be on the wall.
