Gordon’s NFL career began after a sensational 2014 season to cap his Wisconsin career, winning the Doak Walker Award and being recognized as first-team All-B1G and a unanimous All-American. He was selected No. 15 overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Gordon remained with the Chargers franchise through the 2019 season, earning Pro Bowl selections in 2016 and ’18. He landed with the Denver Broncos ahead of the 2020 season.
Last season, Gordon made 10 appearances, including 6 starts for the Broncos. On Nov. 29, however, he was signed to the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad. Gordon made no regular-season or postseason appearances for the Chiefs but was awarded a Super Bowl ring by the team as a member of the world champions. Gordon’s contract with the Chiefs expired in February, making him a free agent.
In his pro career, Gordon has played in 108 regular-season games, making 94 starts. He has rushed 1,567 times for 6,462 yards and 55 touchdowns while logging 309 receptions for 2,467 yards and 14 TDs. Gordon’s last 1,000-yard rushing season came in 2017 with the Chargers.
