Purdue picks up 21st commitment for 2024 from DB out of Illinois

Purdue is working to compile the 2024 recruiting class under head coach Ryan Walters, and the Boilermakers added another player Friday evening.
This time, the commitment comes from LeonTre “Smiley” Bradford, a defensive back out of East St. Louis High School in Illinois. Prior to his commitment, Bradford generated offers from around the country that included Illinois, Arkansas, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri and Nebraska.

Bradford is listed as a 6-feet and 190-pound safety for the 2024 recruiting class. According to the 247 Sports Composite, Bradford is a 3-star recruit and the 78th overall safety in the country for the cycle.
Purdue 2024 recruiting update
The addition of Bradford brings Purdue up to 21 players committed as we move toward the end of July. Walters and his staff continue to have the Boilermakers pushing for a top-25 finish with the group currently ranked 25th in the country per the 247 Sports Team Composite.
Bradford is the 7th defensive back to pledge to Purdue in the 2024 recruiting class as things currently stand, and the group’s top-rated recruit is currently 4-star safety Koy Beasley out of Cincinnati.
