10 things I’m absolutely overreacting to after Week 13 in the B1G

Week 13 saw Ohio State overcome J.T. Barrett’s injury to comeback from behind to beat its rival Michigan, 31-20, and Wisconsin finished the regular season undefeated. Here are the 10 things I am absolutely overreacting to after Week 13 in the B1G:

1. Stop disrespecting Wisconsin

Seriously, the amount of disrespect that the Wisconsin Badgers is getting is absurd and needs to stop.

 

Wisconsin is the lone undefeated Power 5 team in the country. Now, yes, they didn’t play the greatest of competition, but they are still undefeated. I mean Miami played the exact same type of competition and was heading into the final week of the regular season undefeated with the No. 2 ranking.

However, they lost to a then 4-7 Pitt Panthers team. Plus, the Panthers are just as comparable to teams that the Badgers faced. But for some reason, people still say Miami is a playoff contender and Wisconsin is not. Shake my head people. Shake my head.

2. I’d hate to be the cameraman right now

If you were a cameraman that worked the Ohio State-Michigan game, if I were you, I’d go into hiding right now because Buckeye coach Urban Meyer will probably go “Taken” on you.

 

On Saturday, Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett suffered a knee injury during the Michigan game. However, according to Meyer, Barrett suffered an injury from a cameraman on the crowded sideline. And from some reports, it wasn’t an accident.

 

So, whoever you are, I’d would be hiding right now.

3. Dwayne Haskins is going to be good for Ohio State

Since Barrett was injured against the Wolverines, Buckeye fans and people around the country got their first taste of back-up quarterback Dwayne Haskins in a meaningful, tight game. And the young signal caller delivered for Ohio State.

Haskins fueled the Buckeyes’ come from behind victory over the maize and blue with 6-of-7 for 94 yards while adding 24 yards on the ground. It was nothing too impressive, but it got the job done in the most important game of the year. So, expect him to be good for Ohio State when he officially takes over for the scarlet and gray in the future.

4. Tommy Stevens will also be good, but for Penn State

Speaking of potential, future good starting quarterbacks, Penn State has one of its own in Tommy Stevens.

Now, on Saturday, he only completed three passes against the Maryland Terrapins. However, hat really doesn’t matter when you run for 113 yards and three touchdowns, which was the stat line Stevens had in Penn State’s season finale.

All year long, Stevens has impressed in spot duty. If he can expand that impact as a full-time starter, the Nittany Lions have a good one on their hands.

5. Rutgers is gonna be a bowl team next year

Yes, Rutgers got blown out on Saturday against the Michigan State Spartans, 40-7. However, the Scarlet Knights far exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Rutgers finished the year with a 4-8 record. That’s three or four more wins than anyone expected. If the Scarlet Knights can continue this steady growth, they should easily be a bowl team next season. And, that’s not crazy to say.

6. Mike Riley is a saint

On Saturday, Nebraska officially announced that Mike Riley will not return as coach next season. And while he could have been rude and disrespectful to the Huskers, he wasn’t. Just listen to Riley’s statement about him being fired:

If cannot see Riley as a thankful saint, I don’t know what you are seeing. I can see why Riley is one of the most well respectful coaches in all of college football.

7. John O’Korn had the most laughable, hair pulling interception of the year

If you are a Michigan fan, you better look away. On Saturday against Ohio State, Wolverine quarterback John O’Korn killed the maize and blue’s chances to defeat the scarlet and gray with the most laughable, hair pulling interception of the season. I mean, just watch this:

 

I mean, my grandma could have made a better pass attempt to try and hit O’Korn’s intended receiver on that play. That’s how terrible of a pass that was.

8. Akrum Wadley’s jump cut will be missed

Iowa running back Akrum Wadley played in his second to last collegiate game on Friday against Nebraska. And against the Huskers, the elusive back treated college football fans to his beautiful jump cut.

 

If you are a die hard college football fan, cherish this video, because we only get one more game of Wadley potentially making such a jump cut in the black and gold.

9. Mark Dantonio should win the B1G Coach of the Year

Seriously, the turnaround the Spartans were able to complete this season was amazing. They went from 3-9 in 2016 to 9-3 and potentially could make a New Year’s Six bowl in 2017. That type of turnaround should help Dantonio become the B1G Coach of the Year.

10. Alabama ain’t getting into the playoffs

Yes, this doesn’t exactly involve the B1G, but it does.

On Saturday, the Crimson Tide lost to the Auburn Tigers in the Iron Bowl. That means, Alabama has one loss now and won’t be playing the SEC Championship. Plus, that also means the Tide didn’t win the SEC West. However, people are still saying Alabama has a greater chance to make the College Football Playoffs over Wisconsin or Ohio State, who both won their conference divisions and one of them will win the B1G Championship. That is plain absurd because a playoff team, in my opinion, should have won their conference.
