Michigan football has backed up 2 strong seasons on the gridiron with a top 5 showing on the recruiting trail as we enter August and fall camp for the 2023 season.
As of August 2, the Wolverines boast the nation’s No. 4 overall ranked recruiting class per 247Sports. Michigan sits behind only Georgia, Ohio State and Florida in the rankings. The average rating for the class sits at 90.64.
The Wolverines have the most 4-star pledges of any program across the country with 19, but do not yet hold a commitment from a 5-star talent. Florida, OSU and Georgia all have at least 2.
In total, Michigan has added 27 commits from 15 different states, with 8 being defensive linemen at the high school level.
On the other hand, the Wolverines currently hold just 1 commitment from a defensive back: Jo’Ziah Edmond. Of course, 4-star Jacob Oden is listed as an ATH could likely play in the secondary at the safety position.
