In the final week of the season, several players from across the B1G put it all on the line. While a plethora of players finished with incredible performances in Week 13, only a few could earn conference honors.

The B1G had another tough job this week, trying to narrow down the top candidates. But the conference was able to settle on five players who rose above the rest.

Here are the B1G Players o the Week from the final weekend of the regular season:

A pair o B1G running back shared Offensive Player of the Week honors. Iowa’s Akrum Wadley and Purdue’s Markell Jones split the honor, both finishing the year on a high note. Wadley finished with 159 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-14 win over Nebraska while Jones had a career-best 217 yards on 31 carries in a win over Indiana, helping the Boilermakers clinch a bowl berth.

Ohio State’s Sam Hubbard was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week after five tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble against Michigan.

With an average of 48.3 yards per punt, Northwestern’s Hunter Niswander was named the Special Teams Player of the Week. He also pinned three balls inside the 20-yard line as the Wildcats defeated Illinois.

For the eighth (!) time this season, Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor was named the Freshman of the Week. On 20 carries, Taylor produces 149 yards and a touchdown as the Badgers completed the perfect season with a 31-0 win over Minnesota.
