A pair of B1G punters were placed on the Ray Guy Award watchlist Tuesday evening. The award is given annually to the top punter in college football.

Illinois punter Hugh Robertson and Penn State punter Riley Thompson are the 2 in question, joining a list of 15 players across the country. You can find the remaining members on the list below:

Adam Korsak of Rutgers won the award last season, marking the first time a B1G player has won the award since Ohio State’s BJ Sander in 2003.

Thompson will be entering his first year at Penn State after being FAU’s punter last season. He had 15 punts of over 50 yards and landed 26 within the 20 with just 3 touchbacks.

Robertson has played at Illinois since the 2020 season and enters 2023 as a redshirt sophomore despite being the 3rd oldest player in college football at 28 years old. He totaled 10 punts over 50 yards with 18 downed inside the 20 last season.
