Black Stripe Alert: Freshman OL becomes latest Buckeye to shed stripe

Ohio State freshman offensive lineman Luke Montgomery became the latest Buckeyes to shed his black stripe Saturday, officially joining the Buckeyes brotherhood.
Montgomery is Ohio State’s highest rated offensive line commit of the 2023 cycle, listed as a 4-star prospect out of high school. He was considered to be the No. 120 player in the cycle per 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Montgomery becomes the 4th member of the Buckeyes’ 2023 class to have his stripe removed, revealing the Scarlet stripe worn in games. He’s is the 3rd offensive lineman to shed his stripe this season.

Even though he is just a freshman, Montgomery has been well in the mix of things to start on the offensive line during practice this offseason.
