Aidan O’Connell seems to have transitioned well to NFL football. He threw his first ever TD pass in a Las Vegas Raiders uniform on Sunday.

O’Connell played at Purdue from 2019-2022. In his final season with the Boilermakers, he led them to an appearance in the Citrus Bowl against LSU. O’Connell didn’t play in the game as he opted out to prepare for the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Purdue standout threaded a nice pass to Kelan Cole Sr. for the touchdown and made it look easy. It looks like O’Connell didn’t have too many problems reading an NFL defense, as he quickly went over 100 yards passing with a score.

The Raiders took O’Connell with the final pick in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He will most likely be competing with veteran QB Jimmy Garoppolo for the starting job in Las Vegas.

2023 will be Garoppolo’s first year with the team after spending the last few seasons with San Francisco.

It’s always good to see a player like O’Connell do well in their first NFL game. Las Vegas faces the L.A. Rams next on Aug. 19. Kickoff will be at 9 p.m. ET.
