Scott Van Pelt is extending his time at ESPN. The company recently announced a new, multi-year contract for the veteran sportscaster.

As part of the new deal, the Maryland alum will have increased duties, such as serving as the new host of Monday Night Countdown.

Van Pelt will be joined on the show by analysts Ryan Clark, Robert Griffin III, and Marcus Spears plus senior insider Adam Schefter and features reporter Michelle Beisner-Buck. Larry Fitzgerald and Alex Smith will also make multiple appearances.

In addition to Van Pelt’s increased NFL presence, he will continue to host the late-night “SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt” most weeknights. The show has consistently performed well since being launched in September of 2015.

Van Pelt will continue to host ESPN’s coverage of golf majors and a monthly “Bad Beats” show. He has been at ESPN since 2001.

Van Pelt is a 1988 graduate of Maryland, where he studied film and radio/TV.
