Receiver Sam Mays announces he is transferring from Illinois

The Illinois Fighting Illini are losing yet another player due to transfer. This time around, it is wide receiver Sam Mays who is departing from Champaign.
On Saturday, Mays announced his intention to transfer from Illinois via Twitter.

Mays played in seven games this year for the Illini, but did not record a reception. During his three years in Champaign, Mays caught 20 passes for 232 yards.
Mays has one season of eligibility remaining.
