Stanford Steve was not feeling great about Penn State on ‘Always College Football’ on Friday with Greg McElroy. Stanford Steve noted how Penn State is up against it in the B1G.

Stanford Steve’s comments came from the section of the show where long shot conference winners were being discussed. McElroy and Stanford Steve agreed that Wisconsin was their long shot in the B1G.

It’s not going to become any easier for the Nittany Lions, according to Stanford Steve.

“Penn State is really up against it in the B1G. All of the positive vibes coming out of there, but you’re still gonna have to go to Columbus. I think there’s a really tricky game in Champaign early. We’re gonna really find out what they have at the quarterback in that game because Illinois is gonna be a pain in the but. They’re not gonna give you anything easy. When you look at Penn State you’re talking about a transfer wideout from a MAC school being you’re difference maker, I’m sorry I need to hear more. Especially when you have a kid who hasn’t played in big spots before. I need to see more out of their offensive line. Michigan, you play at home. Go put that tape on. I would take Penn State over Ohio State as far as wins, I don’t love it.”

It could be a tough season for Penn State if everything doesn’t go as planned.

The Nittany Lions open the season against West Virginia on Sept. 2. Are Stanford Steve’s concerns about Penn State valid?
