Final B1G bowl projections: Ohio State or Alabama in the College Football Playoff?

It’s officially bowl season.

With Championship Saturday putting an exclamation point on the 2017 season, all we have remaining are bowl games and the College Football Playoff before we go into a long, deep depression without the sport. Seriously, where did this season go?

Now that the year is complete, we sit and wait for the College Football Playoff committee to make its decision on which four teams will compete for a national title. After that, bowl destinations will soon be known.

Here are my final bowl projections before any announcements are made. And B1G fans may not be pleased with my College Football Playoff opinion:

Bowl Conferences Teams
Pinstripe Bowl     B1G vs. ACC     Purdue vs. Boston College
Music City Bowl     B1G vs. Pac-12     Iowa vs. Kentucky
Holiday Bowl     B1G vs. Pac-12     Northwestern vs. Stanford
Outback Bowl     B1G vs. SEC     Michigan vs. South Carolina
Citrus Bowl     B1G vs. SEC     Michigan State vs. LSU
Cotton Bowl     B1G vs. SEC     Penn State vs. TCU
Fiesta Bowl     AL vs. AL*     Ohio State vs. USC
Orange Bowl     ACC vs. AL*     Wisconsin vs. Miami

Personally, I think Alabama has a better argument that Ohio State — yes, I am aware this is a B1G site. Despite impressive wins over Michigan State, Penn State and Wisconsin and a B1G title in hand, I can’t get over that glaring 31-point loss to Iowa.

But we’ll find out soon enough whether the B1G squeaks in, or if the SEC gets two teams into the four spots.

It should make for an entertaining Sunday.
