Sammy Sasso reportedly sustained ‘severe nerve damage’ after being shot in Columbus

Sammy Sasso, a star Ohio State wrestler, reportedly sustained “severe nerve damage” after being shot in Columbus last weekend.
According to a report from Eleven Warriors, Sasso will need to undergo comprehensive physical therapy for his injuries in order to be able to fully walk again. He has since had surgery on his colon and another procedure to remove a bullet near his spine this past week.

Sasso was rushed to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in serious condition on August 18 after the incident, which took place around 8:30 p.m. According to the aforementioned report, the shooting started as an attempted robbery.
Sasso is a 2-time champion in the B1G and a 4-time qualifier for the NCAA Tournament. He is also a 4-time All-American for Ohio State and a 2-time Runner up at the NCAA Championships.
