Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore will miss Michigan’s season opener against East Carolina after a self-imposed suspension. Harbaugh will also be suspended for the next 2 games of the season.

Obviously, that affects Michigan’s season opener against East Carolina, as well as the Wolverines’ Weeks 2 and 3 matchups against UNLV and Bowling Green, respectively.

As you can tell, these aren’t exactly College Football Playoff contenders the Wolverines will be facing. Nevertheless, the Wolverines need an offensive playcaller heading into the opener with DC Jesse Minter calling defensive plays and acting as head coach.

On Monday, the Michigan HC revealed that QBs coach Kirk Campbell will call plays with Moore suspended, adding that he’s as “dialed in as well as anybody” he’s ever seen.

Campbell has been at Michigan since last season when he came on as an offensive analyst after being Old Dominion’s OC in 2020 and 2021. He was promoted to QBs coach and now will be calling plays for the No. 2 team in America Week 1.

Michigan is beginning a search for a 3rd-straight B1G title and maintains some of the best odds in the league to start the season. Fans looking to get in on all the action this fall can take advantage of our special DraftKings Casino Michigan promo code.

The Wolverines and Pirates will kick off at Noon on Peacock this Saturday.
