Michigan State players unleash on Twitter after Outback Bowl takes UM

This year’s bowl pairings were released on Sunday and Michigan State didn’t seem overly happy about how a certain team was assigned a certain bowl game over it.

The Spartans were selected to attend the Holiday Bowl, while their in-state rival the Michigan Wolverines are heading down to the Outback Bowl, which is a Jan. 1 game. That certainly did not sit well with Michigan State players, as they felt they were more deserving to be in Tampa than Michigan.

The Outback Bowl is New Year’s Day bowl game, which gets plenty of viewership. And with the Spartans finished the season 9-3 and even defeated the 8-4 Wolverines earlier this year. Plus, Michigan is the only B1G team playing on Jan. 1. So, I can see why Michigan State can be a little upset. However, coach Mark Dantonio and company are grateful for the opportunity to play in a bowl because they missed one last year.
