Kyle McCord will be the starter again for Ohio State as the Buckeyes take on Youngstown State this Saturday.
McCord had 239 yards and an interception in the season opener that fell short of both McCord and head coach Ryan Day’s expectations. Day saw some flashes of greatness, but overall the performance was shaky.
“I think we both felt the same way,” Day said in his press conference Tuesday. “There were some good moments and good throws and some things you’d want back.”
Day will be switching up the game plan this Saturday, though. He wants to get Devin Brown more snaps.
When asked if his QB plan is the same as last week for this week's home opener, #Buckeyes HC Ryan Day said:
"Yes, but trying to get Devin in more."
Day reiterated that he wanted Brown to play more at Indiana but had to go with his "gut" (i.e. sticking with Kyle McCord).

Day didn’t give Brown more snaps because he was going with his “gut” in a game that was a little too close for comfort. Brown completed just 1 pass on 3 attempts and had negative yardage.
This Saturday should be more manageable for the Buckeyes, which means there will be more opportunities to get Brown in the game.
Day also has not committed to making McCord a full-time starter. There is still much more for him to learn before he makes that decision.
Day said he doesn't want to draw hard lines about the QB situation. Not ready yet to say McCord is the starter for good.
