Ryan Day talked about how Kyle McCord and Devin Brown played in the 35-7 win on Saturday. Day still didn’t commit to naming one of them as the full-time starter at quarterback.
Day said that McCord showed poise and was very efficient in the win. McCord finished the day with 258 yards passing and 4 touchdowns.
When it came to Devin Brown, Day said that the Ohio State QB looked anxious. Brown had 101 yards passing and saw much more of the field than the season opener.
“I thought Kyle had poise coming into his second game,” said Day. “I thought Devin early on was anxious. After he calms down can see the talent there. I thought Kyle came out efficient”

Regardless of how well McCord played in the win, Day was still not ready to make a decision on who the starter should be this season. Day stated that he wanted to look at the film before naming the QB1.

If Day ends up not making a decision, McCord will have another chance to earn the starting job against Western Kentucky in Week 3.
That game will kick off on Sept. 16 at 4 p.m. ET on FOX.
