Scott Van Pelt shares pick in Minnesota-North Carolina game

Scott Van Pelt released his weekly “Winners” segment on Friday.
Van Pelt made several picks against the spread on the Week 3 slate, including North Carolina’s matchup against Minnesota. Van Pelt is going with the Golden Gophers.
“I’m saying Minnesota is gonna keep it close in North Carolina,” Van Pelt said. “Tar Heels last seen battling into double overtime last Saturday laying almost 3 touchdowns. Gophers catching 8 in Chapel Hill. We’ll take them.”
Van Pelt is 10-5 all-time when picking against the Tar Heels.
North Carolina did stumble in Week 2 against App State. UNC had a chance to win it in regulation, but a missed field goal forced it to win in double overtime. Omarion Hampton and Drake Maye both scored rushing touchdowns in the extra period to help secure the win.
Minnesota enters this game with a 2-0 record as well. The Golden Gophers have earned wins over Nebraska and Eastern Michigan to start the season.
Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
