Lee Corso recalls favorite ‘College GameDay’ headgear pick

Lee Corso is making his 400th “College GameDay” headgear pick on Saturday! The GameDay crew is in Boulder ahead of Colorado’s game against Colorado State at Folsom Field.
Corso has become an institution in college football, a staple at the GameDay desk since its launch in 1987. While the headgear pick didn’t come about until 1996, it eventually became a signature of the program.
Now, Corso is poised to make pick No. 400. Before Saturday’s GameDay episode, Kirk Herbstreit caught up with him to ask which one stands out the most.
It sounds like both were on the same wavelength.
“Mine was when you dropped the F-bomb,” Herbstreit said.
“Yeah, mine too,” Corso laughed.
That was in 2011, with GameDay at the site of the SMU-Houston game. Needless to say, that will be a moment that will live on in the show’s history.
Will headgear pick No. 400 be in favor of Colorado or Colorado State? Better yet, will Corso manage to keep the airwaves clean? We’ll have to wait and see.
