Penn State hosted a blue-chip linebacker from New Jersey for Saturday’s White Out, and now he’s part of the Nittany Lions’ 2025 recruiting class.
DJ McClary took to social media on Sunday to announce his commitment to James Franklin’s program. McClary said he’s shutting things down.
“So now I would like thank all the coaches that recruited me around the country it was an honor and I’m blessed to have had that honor but today I would like to respectfully shut down my recruitment so I can now focus on my academics as well as my athletics in pursuit of being the next great PSU linebacker. #WEARE”
A standout of Snyder in Jersey City, McClary’s listed measurements are 6-1, 211 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, McClary is rated 4-stars, the No. 3 New Jersey product, No. 12 linebacker and No. 100 prospect overall in the Class of 2025.
McClary has picked up 19 scholarship offers during his recruitment. He chose the Nittany Lions over Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio State, Rutgers and others.
