Penn State’s offensive line paved the way for a White Out victory in Week 4. Despite a rainy night and wet conditions, the unit helped lead the Nittany Lions to 215 rushing yards against a usually stiff Iowa defense.
On Wednesday, the unit also received a weekly honor from the Joe Moore Award. In a weekly vote, the entire offensive line of the Nittany Lions received recognition for “Pancake Block of the Week.”
The play came with Penn State needing a short-yardage push and the front of the Nittany Lions completely caving in Iowa’s defensive front. Per the Joe Moore Award, Penn State is the first program to have the entire o-line win the Block of the Week.
OL coach Phil Trautwein weighed in on the honor, expressing it as a cool moment and noting his pride for Penn State’s “Brick Squad.”
How cool is this?? Proud of you, #BrickSquad! And thank you, @JoeMooreAward! We appreciate it! #WeAre 🥞🥞 https://t.co/ul2y0rTARc

While a lot of attention has been given to dynamic quarterback Drew Allar and the two-headed backfield of Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, the offensive line is one of the best under James Franklin in Happy Valley. They will try to pave the way moving forward.
