Kickers don’t always steal the show on National Signing Day. Those high-profile moments are usually reserved for the five-star quarterback, the game-changing running back or the standout defensive lineman.
But Joseph Petrino has worked his way into a few headlines during the early signing period. How?
Well, the Maryland commit can kick a 50-yard field goal…with either leg. You can read that as many times as you like, but I promise it’s not a typo.
Petrino was highlighted on Big Ten Network during signing day coverage on Wednesday, showing off his unique ability. First, the kicker knocked a 60-yard field goal through the uprights with his right leg. Then, he moved the ball up 10 yards and drilled a 50-yard attempt with his left leg.
Don’t believe it? Here’s the video evidence.
