Taulia Tagovailoa put his name in the Maryland record books once again on Saturday. Maryland played Indiana in Week 5 and Tagovailoa became the first Maryland quarterback to surpass 9,000 career yards passing.

Maryland’s offense was off to a rapid start, scoring multiple touchdowns before the end of the first quarter. Tagovailoa surpassed 100 yards through the air before the quarter ended. He also made some plays with his legs.

Tagovailoa’s highlights in Week 5 started on the first play of the game, connecting with Jeshaun Jones for 62 yards out of the gate:

Tagovailoa has been rewriting Maryland’s history books this season. He became the first quarterback in program history to have 8,000 career yards passing earlier this season.

The good news for Maryland is that it’s still early into the year, which means Tagovailoa could break even more records before it’s all over.

The DMV is going to miss Tagovailoa when he eventually leaves to go onto the next level. All fans can do now is just enjoy him while he’s still at Maryland.
