Maryland athletics announced on Friday that the program added transfers Melvin Keihn, a defensive end from Virginia Tech, and Towson placekicker Daniel Sutton.
Keihn and Sutton will both have to sit out a season before they are eligible in 2016.
Keihn requested a release from Virginia Tech at the end of July and announced his future plans this week. The backup played in all 13 games as a freshman, but mostly on special teams.
The former Under Armour All-American had two seasons in his reserve role last season. He’ll have three years of eligibility left.
Sutton will be a redshirt sophomore at the start of the 2016 season. The Terps return senior Brad Craddock, who won the Lou Groza award last year as the nation’s top kicker.
