CJ Stroud has been off to a strong start to his NFL career with the Houston Texans.
On Sunday, the Texans routed the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-6 to even their record at 2-2. Stroud was 16-of-30 for 306 yards in this one, throwing a pair of touchdowns and 0 interceptions.
In fact, with Sunday’s performance, Stroud has passed for at least 250 yards, thrown at least 2 touchdowns, and finished a game with 0 interceptions in 3 straight games, the first rookie to do so since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.
The Texans dropped their first 2 games against the Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts. Since then, they’ve bounced back to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars and, on Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their 2nd win of the 2022 season came all the way in Week 16 as they finished with a 3-13-1 mark.
Stroud and the Texans next head to Atlanta to face the Falcons in a Week 5 game. The former Ohio State quarterback will hope that it’s a better outcome than his last trip to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a last-second loss to Georgia on Dec. 31 in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
