Purdue has announced a contract extension on Friday for Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Bobinski that will span until June 30, 2028.
Bobinski is currently in his 8th season at the helm of Purdue athletics.
“I’m grateful to President Chiang, Board Chairman Berghoff and the entire Board of Trustees for providing me the opportunity to continue working alongside our talented Boilermaker student-athletes, coaches and staff,” Bobinski said. “It’s an extremely dynamic time in college athletics, and I look forward to helping Purdue navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
Purdue has made key strides in fundraising since Bobinski began in his role.
The John Purdue Club (JPC) received a record-breaking $83 million in donations in 2022. This includes the largest cash gift ($20 million) in the history of Purdue athletics.
The membership growth of the club has been massive, as the annual scholarship fund deposited a record-setting $13.5 million in 2023 to fully cover student-athlete scholarships for the second straight year. Bobinski and his staff have also helped garner $95 million for a capital project that will be ready by Fall 2024 on the athletics campus.
Purdue football will travel to take on Iowa in Week 6 on Saturday (3:30 p.m. EST/Peacock). Purdue leads the all-time series 50-40-3. Iowa won last season’s meeting 24-3 in West Lafayette.
