Marvin Harrison Jr. outlines Week 6 as confidence building game for Kyle McCord

Marvin Harrison Jr. and Ohio State did not have the kind of start the team was hoping for in Week 6. Fortunately, the offense exploded in the second half to roll past Maryland 37-17.
After the game, Harrison addressed what was an up-and-down first half for the team. He said his focus was on executing throughout and staying ready to make plays for when his quarterback needed him.
“I think the first half was up and down us, didn’t really execute the way we wanted to. My mindset was just on coming out in the second half, execute,” said Harrison. “Knowing the team needs to run the ball more, and just have the quarterback trust in me and make some plays.”
As for his QB, Harrison noted Kyle McCord continues to build his confidence on a weekly basis. After a rough start to the game, McCord wound up finishing 19-for-29 for 320 yards and 2 touchdowns without a turnover.
“Confidence, confidence, confidence. The more you play, the more you gain confidence, and you just see his progression,” said Harrison. “He’s getting more comfortable, and I’m super proud of him. Gonna keep working hard and got a long way to go.”
Harrison finished his postgame interview by praising the Buckeye defense and Josh Proctor specifically for his game-changing pick-6:
“Super proud (of the defense). They received a lot of criticism over the past 2 years, so just the way they’ve played all year to keep us in big games,” Harrison explained. “They’ve done a phenomenal job, I think Josh Proctor played an amazing game today and had the huge pick-6, that went a long way for us. They’re gonna keep building.”
