Jim Harbaugh says NFL rumors are like ‘warmed up oatmeal’

Jim Harbaugh has no problem being honest. After three years at Michigan, several media sessions and a handful of tweetstorms, that’s one thing we’ve learned about the Wolverines head coach.
So, when Harbaugh dismisses the rumors about potentially leaving Ann Arbor for the NFL, it’s probably a safe bet that he has no intentions to depart from his alma mater.
During an Outback Bowl press conference, Harbaugh was asked about the latest NFL rumors, this time being linked with a potential vacancy with the Indianapolis Colts at the end of the year. But the Michigan head coach passed on the opportunity to answer the question, showing no interest.
“I’ll just move on to the next question,” he said, according to MLive.com. “That’s like warmed up oatmeal.”

A few days ago, Mike Wells of ESPN wrote that he believed Harbaugh would be a strong candidate to take the coaching job in Indianapolis if current head coach Chuck Pagano was fired. He pointed to Harbaugh’s previous NFL coaching experience, his ties with the Colts (he was the quarterback for four seasons), his relationship with Andrew Luck (coaching him at Stanford) and his appeal as a big-name coach.
But, apparently, Harbaugh isn’t interested.
Dismissing the NFL rumors is nothing new for Harbaugh, who was the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers for four seasons. Last year, when he was linked with the Los Angeles Rams, Harbaugh referred to media members spreading those rumors as “jive turkeys.”
Whether it’s jive turkeys or warmed up oatmeal, Harbaugh has made it pretty clear that he’s not interested in leaving for the NFL.
