Kirk Ferentz will appear in a B1G original surrounding preseason DPOY Cooper DeJean, a star defensive back for the Hawkeyes program.

DeJean has been a wrecking ball at Iowa for some time now. He set a single-season record with 3 interceptions returned for a touchdown in 2022 and has jumped to a quick start this season, sitting at 2 interceptions on the year a little over halfway through the regular season.

In 2022 DeJean totaled 5 interceptions.

Big Ten Network released a short of the upcoming original, which will be aired on October 17 at 11 a.m. ET. Here’s what Ferentz said about DeJean in the preview:

“Bob Sanders, Desmond King, Josh Jackson winning the Thorpe Award here. You hate to rank players, but he’s as fine as we’ve had, and it’s a pretty good group,” Ferentz said.

And here’s a look:

The Hawkeyes are 6-1 after downing Wisconsin 15-6 for the Heartland Trophy. They draw Minnesota next week looking to all but put the race for the West to bed.
