Iowa picks up 2025 commitment from 3-star ATH out of Illinois

Iowa is off to a 6-1 start in the 2023 season, but recruiting for the future never sleeps! On Sunday, the Hawkeyes landed another player for the future, this time in the class of 2025.
The player is Burke Gautcher, a versatile player out of Sycamore High School in Sycamore, Illinois. Gautcher has played a host of positions in high school, and he revealed his pledge to Iowa over offers from Illinois, Minnesota and others.

Gautcher is rated as a 3-star athlete and is listed at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds. He has played quarterback, receiver and defensive back during his high school career. Gautcher’s primary recruiter to Iowa was LBs coach Seth Wallace, so it’s likely Gautcher has a future home on Iowa’s defense.
According to the 247 Sports Composite, Gautcher is the 49th ATH in the country and the No. 15 player out of Illinois for the class of 2025. He’s the third player to commit to Iowa for the cycle.
