ESPN’s FPI is updating the B1G Championship outlook through Week 7 of the season, and the system sees a tightening race for the league title at this point of the schedule.
At the top of the system, Ohio State is still the overwhelming favorite with better than a 40% chance of winning the B1G title this season. However, there is a new team in second for the second consecutive week.
Penn State has jumped ahead of the Michigan Wolverines as the second most likely team to win the conference. The Nittany Lions are now ahead of Michigan in regard to the FPI’s odds of winning the B1G, with Penn State and Michigan both over 20%.
Wisconsin last week was the only team in the B1G West to have a chance, but the loss to Iowa has dropped the Badgers back behind the Hawkeyes. Despite their host of offensive issues, Kirk Ferentz’s program currently looks like the favorite to represent the West in Indianapolis.
Here are the updated FPI B1G title odds:
- Ohio State — 40.5%
- Penn State — 25.2%
- Michigan — 24.5%
- Iowa — 7.3%
- Wisconsin — 2%
These odds will definitely change, as Ohio State vs. Penn State is the marquee game in college football next week. Michigan will face MSU in an in-state rivalry game.
While that is the FPI outlook, Michigan remains the betting favorite to capture another title in the Big Ten Championship odds. Interested fans can get in on the action with Tradition’s unique BetMGM Ohio promo code or BetMGM Michigan promo code!
