Iowa and Minnesota will meet for their annual rivalry bout this weekend in Iowa City, and the Hawkeyes will be debuting a flashy look for the game.

Kirk Ferentz’s team, generally rooted in tradition, will don a black/gold/black look for this weekend’s game. The gold jersey debuted in prior seasons but had yet to be worn alongside the black helmet and pants. They first debuted in 2019 when the Hawkeyes hosted Penn State.

Minnesota will be wearing their gold chrome helmets with the “Goldy” logo, white jerseys, and maroon pants.

The matchup between the Golden Gophers and Hawkeyes will take place at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Minnesota will be looking to regain possession of the Floyd of Rosedale for the first time since 2014, as Iowa has won 8 straight in this matchup.

Six of those wins have come by one score or less. Another low-scoring affair is expected on Saturday.
