Penn State scoop-and-score TD wiped away after controversial holding call vs. Ohio State

Penn State appeared to make one of the biggest plays of the game midway through the second quarter on Saturday.
Curtis Jacobs got to Kyle McCord in the backfield, knocked the ball loose, picked it up off a hop and returned it for a touchdown. It was a phenomenal play by Jacobs to flip the momentum in this game firmly into Penn State’s direction.
Until it wasn’t.
Penn State was flagged for defensive holding on Marvin Harrison Jr. in the secondary. That flag brought Penn State’s touchdown back and gave the Buckeyes a first down. Ohio State was able to take advantage as it found the end zone later in the drive to take a 10-3 lead.

That’s a crucial call that many Penn State fans likely won’t agree with. The Nittany Lions are looking for their first win over Ohio State since 2016. Penn State has not won a game in Columbus since the 2011 season.
