Michigan assistant coach reportedly had a meeting with Florida State head coach Willie Taggart on Tuesday regarding a vacancy on the Seminoles’ staff. The news was first reported by 247Sports.

247Sports also reported that Frey was on Florida State’s campus.

Frey joined Jim Harbaugh’s staff for the 2017 season after spending the previous six seasons on Indiana’s staff under Kevin Wilson. According to 247Sports, Frey was offered the job as an offensive line coach at Oregon under Taggart, but opted to join Harbaugh in Ann Arbor.

It seems likely that Frey could bolt for Florida State and join Taggart’s staff in Tallahassee. He’s a former Seminole and was a three-time letter-winner under legendary head coach Bobby Bowden. There was no confirmation on what position Frey would offer to Frey.

At Michigan, Frey served as the offensive tackles and tight ends coach.
