New details have emerged in the ongoing Michigan sign-stealing saga Friday night.
ESPN’s Dan Murphy reports he spoke to a man who says that suspended Michigan analyst Connor Stalions paid him to tape B1G opponents. The man, a former D-III coach, claims that Stalions paid him “a couple hundred dollars” and gave him a ticket to a Michigan home game in exchange for the tapes of Michigan’s future B1G opponents.
The man is the first person involved with the scheme to come forward and share details about their role.
He said the games he attended were Rutgers and Penn State last season, and another Penn State game last month. He also told ESPN that he was given tickets to attend this Saturday’s Penn State vs. Indiana game.
The man said that he has attended 3 B1G games over the past 2 years to record the sidelines of a future Michigan opponent. He took photos on his personal cell phone and then shared them to a shared iPhone photo album, he said, but he does not know who else had access to the album other than Stalions.
The man spoke to ESPN on the condition of anonymity, per the story.
