Ohio State linebacker Jerome Baker will forgo his senior season in Columbus and will enter the 2018 NFL Draft. He made the announcement via his Twitter account on Monday.

Baker has been a starting linebacker for the Buckeyes each of the last two seasons and has become one of the top defenders on the roster. To make his announcement, he released a video and a statement through Twitter, thanking teammates, coaches, family, friends and fans.

Baker appeared in 33 career games for Ohio State, making 158 career tackles and 17.5 tackles for loss in three seasons. He also recorded two interceptions, both coming in 2016.

This season, Baker had 72 tackles, including eight stops for loss. He also recovered two fumbles and accounted for three pass break-ups on the year.

Ohio State finished the year with a 12-2 record, winning the B1G and defeating USC in the Cotton Bowl Classic.
