Ryan Day’s Ohio State program is on the road facing Wisconsin in Week 9. Despite another dominant half from his defense, the Buckeyes head into the break with just a 10-3 lead vs. Wisconsin.

A large part of that comes down to an offense and the play of starting quarterback Kyle McCord. The latest slow start on offense can be pinned on McCord’s struggles against the Badgers, including 3 turnovers on the road.

Asked about adjustments heading into halftime, Day said his defense is playing great right now. He did admit that Ohio State needs to start finishing off some drives and stop turning the ball over.

“I think our defense is playing great. We can’t turn the ball over, certainly not in the red zone and then we get into plus territory here,” said Day. “We’ve gotta finish off some drives. I think we’re moving them, we’re doing some good things, we just gotta take care of the football.”

Asked for a halftime message to McCord, Day said he will tell the QB to “trust his feet” and what he’s seeing on the field. At the end of the day, the head coach wants the leader of his offense to manage the game and keep the team on schedule.

“Just trust his feet, and trust his eyes and manage the game and keep us on schedule,” Day explained.

We’ll see if McCord and the rest of the offense are able to respond in the second half.
