Big Ten reveals weekly honors following Week 9 action

The Big Ten has wrapped up the October slate of the season and is moving toward November following Week 9! Over the weekend, 10 teams were in action with 5 games across Saturday.
Moving forward, every B1G team will be in action in Week 10 and beyond as the rest of the schedule heats up. As for Week 9, the conference unveiled 4 recipients of weekly honors on Monday.

Offensive Player of the Week
- Jordan Nubin, Minnesota RB
Nubin paved the way for Minnesota’s 27-12 win, setting career-high totals with 40 carries for 204 yards to go with 2 touchdowns. Was the first 200-yard game for the Gophers since Mo Ibrahim rushed for 263 on Nov. 19 last season. He is the first Offensive Player of the Week for Minnesota since Ibrahim last season.
Defensive Player of the Week
- Aidan Hubbard, Northwestern DL
Hubbard delivered a massive game with 3 sacks, 3 TFL and 5 total tackles during a 33-27 win over Maryland. Those sacks are the most for a Northwestern player in a single game since the school record of 4 was set in 2016.
Special Teams Player of the Week
- Quinton Newsome, Nebraska DB
Newsome delivered a special teams touchdown for Nebraska after returning a blocked field 68 yards in the third quarter against Purdue. Also recovered a fumble on defense and recovered another fumble on a punt return attempt by the Boilermakers.
Freshman of the Week
- Dillon Thieneman, Purdue DB
Thieneman tied a Purdue record with 2 forced fumbles against Nebraska and is the first player to tie that feat since 2021. Led the Boilermakers with 12 total tackles for his third game of 10+ tackles this season.
