Ohio State co-OC Ryan Day reportedly not leaving to join Tennessee Titans’ staff

New Tennessee Titans’ head coach (and former Buckeye great) Mike Vrabel attempted to hire Ohio State co-OC Ryan Day, according to reports, but it appears the Day will remain in Columbus.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Day will pass up the NFL opportunity to remain at Ohio State. Vrabel had been interested in Day due to his history under Chip Kelly. The Titans’ QB, of course, is former Oregon great Marcus Mariota; so, it would have been a natural fit for Day and Tennessee, as Vrabel wants Mariota to return to his college form.
Day joined Ohio State in 2017 as the team’s co-OC and QBs coach, and keeping him around for at least another year is great news for the Buckeyes and Urban Meyer. He coached the QBs under Kelly in San Francisco (2016) and Philadelphia (2015).
Ohio St. co-offensive coordinator Ryan Day is expected to remain in Columbus and not become the Tennessee Titans’ offensive coordinator, per source. Titans’ OC search continues.
