Alante Brown is playing for Michigan State in 2023 after spending the first part of his career at Nebraska. On Saturday, Brown is facing his former team with the Spartans, and he was called on for a trick play that caught the Huskers off guard.
Facing a 2nd-and-7 near midfield, the Spartans called a play that began as a swing pass to Brown in the backfield. It was a clear backward pass and allowed Brown to pull up for a throw down the field.
Even with a defender in his face, Brown pulled up and delivered a strong throw down the field to Montorie Foster Jr. The connection was flawless and went for 42 yards deep into Nebraska territory.

The play kept Michigan State’s drive rolling right along, and the Spartans cashed in shortly after. Katin Houser found Christian Fitzpatrick for an 11-yard touchdown as MSU retook a lead at 10-7 lead in the second quarter.
